Before and After Shutter Painting - Conner's Custom Coatings

Importance Of Shutter Painting

Shutter painting is an important home maintenance task that should be done every few years. Not only does it make your shutters look nicer, but it also protects them from the elements. Paint helps to seal out moisture, which can cause the wood to rot, and it also helps to protect against sun damage. In addition, paint provides a barrier against insects and other pests. Whether you’re looking to improve the appearance of your home or simply want to protect your investment, shutter painting is a task that’s well worth the effort.

How to Tell if It’s Time for Shutter Painting

Shutter Painting is a great way to change the look of your home without spending a lot of money. However, it’s important to know when to paint your shutters and when to leave them be. Here are a few signs that it’s time to give your shutters a fresh coat of paint:

  • The color is faded: Over time, the sun can fade the color of your shutters. If you notice that the color is beginning to fade, it’s time to repaint.
  • The paint is chipped: If you see small chips in the paint, it’s best to repaint before the damage becomes worse. Chipped paint can lead to moisture damage and rot.
  • You’re changing the color of your house: If you’re planning on painting your house a different color, it’s also a good idea to repaint your shutters. This will ensure that they match the new color scheme.

If you notice any of these signs, it’s time to call a shutter painting professional from Conner’s Custom Coatings. We’ll be able to quickly and easily repaint your shutters, giving them a fresh new look.

Choosing The Paint Color For Your Shutter

When it comes to choosing a color for your shutters, there are a few things to keep in mind.

First, consider the material of your shutters. Vinyl, composite, and synthetic foam shutters should be painted in light colors to avoid absorbing too much heat and warping over time. Wood shutters can be painted in light or dark colors, but be aware of tannin bleed, which can cause the color to seep into surrounding surfaces. Second, take into account the colors of your siding surrounding the shutters.

For best results, it’s often best to let professional painters handle the job. Conner’s Custom Coatings has years of experience painting shutters and will work with you to choose the perfect color for your home.

  • Shutter style can range from flat to raised panels, and the size can be small or large.
  • The type of shutter also impacts the price, as coated shutters are more expensive than uncoated shutters.
  • The condition of the shutter will also impact the cost; new shutters will be less expensive to paint than older ones.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What type of paint do you use for shutter painting?

We use high-quality, durable paint that is specifically designed for exterior use. Our paint is specially formulated for excellent adhesion to shutters, resists fading, and can withstand harsh weather conditions.

What kind of finish will it be?

Our default shutter finish is a satin finish. This finish is ideal for exterior shutter surfaces as it provides a smooth, subtle sheen that is not too glossy or matte.

How long will the paint last on my shutters?

Our shutter painting service is designed to last for many years. We use high-quality paint and materials that are specifically formulated for exterior use to ensure long-lasting results. In general, with proper maintenance, your freshly painted shutters should look great for around 5-7 years. However, the actual lifespan of your paint job can vary depending on many factors, such as the quality of your existing shutters, the condition of your home’s exterior, the weather we experience, and the level of maintenance and care you provide.
